App Showdown finalist profile: Chaser – Get paid faster, with persistence and politeness

Chasing down customers to get invoices paid can be time-consuming and, when you fail to get a response, delicate. Chaser automates it for you, without losing the human touch.

Chaser not only provides tools to effectively automate chasing customers to pay invoices, but it also gives you insights to better decide which customers to grant credit to.

Founder and CEO David Tuck, an experienced certified accountant and CFO, says, “I was constantly frustrated with how inefficient the manual collection of debt was. I knew there had to be a better way.”

On average, Tuck says a Chaser customer gets paid 16 days sooner, boosting cash flow by $4,400 for every $100,000 turnover. The app also saves 7.3 hours on average per week that would have otherwise been spent on accounts receivable.

Among key features:

  • Templates. Email ‘chasers’ start with customizable templates that can be adjusted to your personal style. You can automatically attach invoice copies.
  • Schedules. Choose the day/time of your mailing and align the schedule with bank reconciliation to avoid chasing invoices that have already been paid. You can escalate, send a thank you after an invoice has been paid or create a varied approach for different groups of customers.
  • Insights. Chaser provides insights to best manage the credit control process, empowering you to make the best possible decisions about who to grant credit to, and how to best ‘chase’ your customers.

Tuck believes a laser focus on two areas gives Chaser an edge – its dedication to accounts receivable and deep empathy for customer needs.

“A laser focus on research and development means that we can identify areas for improvements and innovation more quickly,” he says. “Customer research is a huge priority for us. Our customers are at the core of our business model and have been since the inception of Chaser. I started out as an accountant and was therefore the perfect use-case for the initial design and creation of the app.”

Chaser was a finalist in this year’s Small Business App Showdown at QuickBooks® Connect, a contest that honors the very best new apps published on the QuickBooks App Store. The U.K.-based company, with clients around the globe, is gearing up to expand its U.S. presence in 2019.
