Automation tips and tricks: Workona, Relay Financial, and more

Welcome back to another article in an ongoing series about ways to save time in your practice. This tip comes from Lynda Artesani of Artesani Accounting.

Here is how we implement automation in our firm:

First, we use Workona. It’s an app on chrome that allows us to pin documents and spreadsheets very simply so that anyone working on a file knows where the documents are. We also add notes and workflows with pictures, so that if someone on our team needed to jump into a file, they have everything they need to know to do the work.

We used Dext for accounts payable and receipt tracking. It works wonderfully with our mid-market law firms, as there are so many receipts we need to wrangle; having one place to drop them is perfection.

We use Relay Financial for payables. There’s only a $30 fee per month to the client, and we have full visibility of paying bills and so many more features baked in. The saves are from a ton of time.

I could go on and on about software we use at our firm. We take a lot of care, time, and testing to make sure we have the right software in place to fully automate many parts of our workflow.
