Be a Part of the Next Generation of Accountants That Helps Intuit Innovate

Intuit® is actively seeking accounting professionals with a Firm of the Future mindset to roll up their sleeves and help Intuit innovate by participating in our Intuit QuickBooks® Accountant Council. The current Council has open positions starting June 2019. You can apply here; applications are being accepted through Friday, April 26, 2019.

For those not familiar, the Accountant Council is a forum that solicits the voice of accountants, bookkeepers and QuickBooks consultants on issues of strategy, product development, programs and services for Intuit’s Accountant Segment, part of the Small Business and Self Employed Group.

The objectives of the Council are to:

  • Create a forum where Intuit proactively and intently listens to the voice of accounting professionals to better understand their, and their customers’, points of view on the issues and trends impacting small businesses and the accounting profession.
  • Collect input regarding the direction of Intuit’s strategy, product development, programs and services for accounting professionals and their clients.

We’re looking for forward-thinking, future-ready accountants, bookkeepers, QuickBooks consultants and trusted advisors, who use and/or recommend Intuit products and services, and represent a wide range of geographic locations across the United States. Firms of all sizes, and various types of businesses (accounting, consulting, installation and setup, for example), professional designations, verticals and depth of product knowledge, are welcome to apply. Applicants should believe in the promise of cloud technology, the transition into a firm that practices value pricing and active engagement in social media to help market to their prospective clients. Members must be in public practice and they may not participate on any competitors’ advisory forums.

What’s in it for You?

As a Council member, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with Intuit’s senior level executives and product managers about future strategy and upcoming product/service offerings. You will also have the opportunity to network and learn best practices from your Council member colleagues from across the country. New Council members will join a class of eight peers that have just completed the first of their two-year term.

The Accountant Council meets at an Intuit location two times annually, and another two to four times a year via conference calls (phone and/or web cast).

Intuit pay Council members an honorarium of $880 per day for each onsite meeting, and will reimburse members for travel and meal costs for all meetings.

“Being a part of the Intuit Accountant Council was a once in a lifetime opportunity.  Not only did I get a chance to provide feedback on the development of Intuit’s core QuickBooks products, but I got to witness firsthand the dedication Intuit has to listening to their customers and truly making products that accountants want to use.  Also, the relationships formed on the council itself are truly life changing as some of my closest industry peers were introduced to me on the council.  I’ll forever be thankful to Intuit for the opportunity they provided me.” – Michael Ly, Reconciled

“Being invited to join Intuit’s Accountant Council was the most life-changing growth experience of my accounting career. First, traveling into the heart of the Silicon Valley, to Intuit’s headquarters, was inspiring enough. Upon arrival, you immediately meet the other council members — some of the best and brightest accountants in the industry — along with several on the well-organized Intuit staff who would be supporting the operation. Then, the two days of meetings are fast, fun, and full-on opportunities for accountant members to be immersed into Intuit’s development process. It was amazing to meet and collaborate with the minds behind the software we use every day! And being able to enjoy Intuit’s culture first-hand while contributing to the future success of both of our firms was energizing. Joining the accountant council has been an honor and a privilege, an experience that has paid dividends, and I’m certain will continue to do so well into the future.” – Kevin Triemstra, CFO Spark

“Being a member of the Intuit Accountant Council was a huge honor! I was very fortunate to have been chosen for personal and professional reasons. Professionally, I helped influence decisions made by Intuit on software, services and programs, while also meeting and networking with my peers – something I could not have achieved without being part of the Council. Personally, my service gave me the self-esteem I needed to speak out on sometimes-sensitive matters and be part of something greater than me. I definitely recommend serving on the Council and would not trade my experience for anything!” – Kathy Coffman, Coffman BizSolutions

“My time on the Intuit Accountant Council is a major highlight of my career as a bookkeeping professional. The council gave me a unique look into the inner workings of their leadership team and how they develop new products. One thing I learned in my two years of being on the council is that Intuit listens to this group and to all of their customers. It was an honor to have our ideas actually inform the decision making of the various product managers and their teams. If selected for the council, just prepare yourself to work. This isn’t a PR initiative that Intuit puts on to look good; each session is carefully planned and the schedule is very full, we were all exhausted at the end of each day. If you are passionate about the progression of our industry, enjoy making new friends and aren’t afraid to speak your ideas, then this is for you and you should apply!” – Joe Carufe, SystemSix
