Death Wish Coffee Company is Small Business Big Game Winner!

Death Wish Coffee Company, a small business that roasts and packs what some call the world’s strongest coffee, has won Intuit QuickBooks’ Small Business Big Game – a contest awarding a 30-second commercial during professional football’s big game on Feb. 7. The 30-second ad for the Round Lake, New York, small business will be broadcast during the third quarter of the championship game. It will be the only ad to feature a small business and will be viewed by more than 100 million people tuning in to see the Denver Broncos face off against the Carolina Panthers.

As part of the grand prize, Death Wish Coffee is receiving free, lifetime use of QuickBooks® Enterprise. Owner of Death Wish Coffee, Michael Brown, notes he couldn’t have done it without his 11 employees and that this is just the beginning of the company’s journey. There’s also one more person he’d like to thank…

Behind Every Great Small Business is their Accountant

Most of us know how Harry met Sally, but Death Wish Coffee owner Michael Brown met his accountant in a similarly anecdotal way. While attending Intuit’s QuickBooks Connect, Michael was networking with other attendees and started chatting with an individual about his company and business needs. Andrew Berg, owner of Berg Partners, LLC, recognized Michael as one of the recently-announced top three finalists in Intuit’s Small Business Big Game contest and seized the opportunity to start telling Michael more about his own firm. Andrew was attending the conference as a winner in his own right – having recently been named one of the top 20 Firms of the Future by Intuit.

Andrew Gets a ‘Buzz’ from Death Wish Coffee

Both being leaders in their categories and industries, Michael and Andrew seamlessly synced. Accountants are the backbone of small business success, and with 23 years of experience, Andrew is representative of accountants fueling small business success. He has used QuickBooks over the years to save clients time and grow their business – first with QuickBooks Desktop and then moving to QuickBooks Online to manage clients’ books from anywhere, anytime. He is representative of the core Firm of the Future tenants of getting online and utilizing the cloud, becoming a trusted advisor, and getting connected to grow your practice.

“It’s my job to help my small business clients overcome their financial challenges, and it has been so exciting to work with Michael and Death Wish Coffee to take their business to the next level,” said Andrew. “Together, Intuit® and Death Wish Coffee are putting small businesses on the map.”

What’s Next?

Both Andrew and Michael are thrilled at the opportunity winning Small Business Big Game presents and are eager to continue to work together, as Death Wish Coffee Company is thrust onto the big stage. It is just the beginning of their journey together!
