Mindy King: Tell us about your accounting and/or tax practice.
Naseem Matteson: Small Business ABCs provides accounting, bookkeeping and consulting services virtually. MK: How long have you been using QuickBooks Online Accountant?
NM: Since 2011.
MK: What convinced you to make the move to QuickBooks Online Accountant?
NM: This was a NO brainer. We accountants like to be highly organized and keep track of all transactions, and when I saw that QBOA gives you all that and more financial organization, packed in an ALL IN ONE software, I went for it. I prefer QBOA because it gives me freedom and a visual of my work, daily reminders with tasks, and ONE login gets me access to my clients’ data and my own books.
MK: What are your goals for your practice this year?
NM: To be as tech-savvy as possible, spread the word about QBO, and keep my clients informed on the new and better future of this accounting software. This will allow me to keep up with my clients’ needs and provide them the best service I can so I can continue to show my clients they are in good hands.
MK: What’s your favorite away-from-the-office place to get work done?
NM: A library or coffee shop.
MK: Where’s the craziest place you’ve done work for a client?
NM: A water park!
MK: What’s your number one timesavings tip?
NM: Batch entries and electronic banking through QBO.
MK: When you’re not working, what’s your favorite way to spend your time?
NM: Vacationing with the family, hanging out with my boys and husband, cooking, online shopping, and watching football. Go Patriots!
MK: What advice do you have for peers that are still on desktop?
NM: QBO is the next big thing. Embrace it and become even more efficient. Desktop requires a lot of manual backing up, updating, upgrading, restrictions on user licensing and is not as user-friendly. QBO is cloud-based and gives a clean and fresh look on the accounting software, and the ease of the third-party apps is out of this world for QBO!
