New features and enhancements in QuickBooks Online Advanced
QuickBooks® Online Advanced is made for accountants with clients that have more complex business models, with up to $20 million in annual revenue and as many as 100 employees. Advanced is the most flexible QuickBooks Online software to date, with built-in automation and time-saving features that help your clients handle their complexity, while enabling you to serve as their trusted advisor, committed to helping them grow and succeed.
In response to what we hear from accountants themselves, QuickBooks Online Advanced continues to add enhancements to its existing features and debut powerful new ones. All of the existing features and new product innovations within Advanced help you and your clients have the insights needed to make the best data-backed business decisions.

New features in Advanced
Help your clients make informed, data-backed decisions
In response to requests from accountants, you can now up-level your advisory services using Advanced by creating custom KPI dashboards for your clients. The new custom chart builder feature empowers your clients to make better-informed and faster business-critical decisions. Help your clients customize visualized data within their QuickBooks software.

If your client’s budget is built elsewhere, the tedious and error-prone process of manually copying it into the QuickBooks budget creator is no longer necessary. Now, with Advanced, CSV files can be directly imported into the program to create a new budget file. Your Advanced clients can also download a budget template and edit the budget file in spreadsheets before uploading it back to QuickBooks as a CSV.
Accountants tell us that the enhanced custom fields inside QuickBooks Online Advanced are among the most compelling reasons they choose it for their complex clients. Custom fields give clients the option to sort and filter information in efficient ways, streamline reports, and track the things that really matter to the business.
Custom fields in Advanced have been further enhanced to 48. Advanced clients now have access to 12 customer, 12 sales, 12 vendor, and 12 purchase order custom fields.

Help your clients’ businesses operate with confidence
Accountants can now easily activate online backup and restore for their Advanced clients. All data affecting the QuickBooks Online Advanced chart of accounts is backed up (with the exception of some billable expenses). Your clients can back up company data every few minutes, restore their Advanced company to a specific, historical point in time, and track changes along the way.
Customize user access within QuickBooks Online Advanced, and ensure the right people see the right information inside your client’s company. Through custom roles expansion in Advanced, help your clients get even more granular with more pre-set roles to use and expand upon. The custom roles feature includes new roles for payroll permission, banking, expense management, and inventory management.
Fuel client efficiency with automated productivity tools inside Advanced
Your clients will appreciate the ability to streamline invoices, expenses, and more when they use the batch transactions feature inside QuickBooks Online Advanced. Now, Advanced has four more options for batch transactions to help boost your client’s efficiency (and cash flow):
- Batch bills: With batch bills, create and edit multiple bills in just a few clicks.
- Copy/paste functionality: Accountants asked, and here it is! You can now copy and paste data from an Excel spreadsheet directly into the batch transactions panel with QuickBooks Online Advanced.
- Batch select online payments: Your clients can apply online payments to invoices directly from the batch transactions panel, giving batch invoices the same flexibility and power of an individual invoice.
- Search and filter capability: The filter menu from the batch transactions table allows your clients to save time by searching and filtering entries by date range and keyword.
- Process, create, and edit: Advanced now has the ability to allow you and your clients to create, edit, and process sales receipts in batch transactions.
