IMPROVED! Payroll liability reminders

Included with: QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Pro Plus, Premier, Premier Plus, Accountant 2020, and Enterprise 20.0 (Maintenance R5) or newer, with an Enhanced Payroll subscription.

Accessible: From the menu bar, select Employees > Payroll Center. From the Pay Liabilities tab, select a displayed row on the Pay Taxes & Other Liabilities section. Select the Set payment reminder button, and then you will be prompted to open a natively installed calendar application, or you can save a file to import into your calendar tool.

Features: An improvement for payroll processors that want to set up a payroll liability payment due reminder, using a calendar application.

IMPROVED! Simplified employee payroll setup

Included with: QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Pro Plus, Premier, Premier Plus, Accountant 2020, and Enterprise 20.0 and newer, with an Enhanced Payroll subscription.

Accessible: From the menu bar, select Employees > Payroll Setup.

Features: With the release of QuickBooks Desktop 2021, small business owners are now able to complete historical payroll setup more efficiently. Last year’s release of the simplified payroll setup offered a more complete guided setup experience. Small business owners can invite their employees to securely fill in their own personal information. Read last year’s article for more details.

IMPROVED! Auto matching for customer merchant payments

Included with: QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Pro Plus, Premier, Premier Plus, Accountant 2021, and Enterprise 21, with a Payments subscription.

Accessible: From the menu bar, select Customer > Credit Card Processing Activities > Record Merchant Service Deposits.

Features: Helps QuickBooks Desktop merchants auto match all payments to their accounting records every time, with complete confidence and no work. The majority of downloaded payment transactions will be automatically assigned to the proper open invoice. Users can efficiently focus on a category of transactions that need immediate attention. And, the best news yet: Credit card payments are deposited the next day into the merchant’s account; no extra fees or merchant action required!

IMPROVED! QuickBooks capital funding

Included with: QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Pro Plus, Premier, Premier Plus, Accountant 2020, and Enterprise 20.0 (Maintenance R3) or newer.

Accessible: To access QuickBooks Capital, from the menu bar, select Banking > Get Financing. 

Note: As of the writing of this article, access to this offering was not found in the same menu for the QuickBooks Accountant Desktop product.
