QuickBooks Online Advanced – October Update

QuickBooks Online Advanced – October Update

I want to keep accounting professionals close to the evolution of our newest QuickBooks® Online offering, QuickBooks Online Advanced, which is designed for customers who are outgrowing QuickBooks Online Plus. Learn more about what QuickBooks Online Advanced in my last blog post.

You are among the first to hear about the latest enhancements we are introducing, which were just released, or about to be released, in the product, and will be announced to small businesses, soon. These enhancements are a direct result of the feedback we’ve received from accounting professionals like you. Please do continue to share your feedback on what we should do next.

Now, let’s get into the exciting new features:

Smart Reporting powered by Fathom: Track business performance at a glance

Enhanced reporting is one of the top-requested features from small businesses and accounting pros and we’re glad to introduce Smart Reporting. Get dynamic reports and deeper insights with Smart Reporting powered by Fathom. Quickly and easily transform your clients’ QuickBooks data into dynamic reports to help make better business decisions.

Each active QuickBooks Online Advanced subscription includes one license of Smart Reporting powered by Fathom. To import your data into the tool, your QuickBooks Online Chart of Accounts can’t exceed 3,000 active or inactive accounts. To activate Smart Reporting, go to the reports tab > click on the new smart reporting message > click activate > agree to connect to Fathom > go through the setup process.

Import Invoices: Easily import hundreds of invoices into QuickBooks

You’ve also asked for the ability to perform more batch actions to save time while completing key workflows. With Import Invoices you and your clients can efficiently input invoice transactions created outside of QuickBooks through a .CSV file. Additionally, streamline your workflow by importing data from hundreds of invoices at one time. On 10/22 we launched this functionality to just manual sales tax entry.

Custom User Permissions: Put the right information in the right hands

Along with the ability to support more users comes the need for greater control over permissions. We’re pleased to introduce Custom User Permissions. Now you can apply permissions for data access and delegate work to increase productivity. Grant or restrict access to one or more of these specific areas in QuickBooks:

  • Sales transactions
  • Expense transactions
  • Sales reports
  • Expense reports
  • Bank deposits

What’s next?

This is the first set of feature enhancements since QuickBooks Online Advanced was introduced in August. QuickBooks Online Advanced will continue to evolve and my goal is to bring you along for the journey. Feedback from accounting professionals like you has been core to QuickBooks’ development for decades and we are extremely grateful for all your comments and recommendations for this new product. This is the first of many announcements to come about new features which will help to meet the needs of your clients with high transaction volumes and number of users.
