Why You Should Test Into Fixed-Rate Pricing
A new client, a new partner doesn't know what you did in the past. They don't know that you billed hourly and now you're looking to go to a fixed-rate model. I would encourage anybody that hasn't tried fixed rate to just try it. Try it with a prospective client. You might be surprised that they actually like the idea of a fixed rate. You'll be learning, and they'll be learning, and then over time we'll reevaluate that rate based on their transactions. If their business grows, there's more transactions, then obviously their price would adjust. If business slows and it's no longer as profitable for them, then we'll actually decrease the rate based on that.
