As we move deeper into the 2026 busy season, we know that efficiency isn't just a goal—it’s a necessity. Intuit Accountant Suite is evolving to better help you manage your clients, firm, and team in one place.

Whether you are looking to streamline your internal operations or provide deeper advisory services, these updates are informed by accountants, for accountants, to help you lead the industry from a single, unified platform.

While new premium features will be available this spring, the Intuit Accountant Suite Core tier continues our commitment to provide firms with QuickBooks clients all the functionality previously available in QuickBooks Online Accountant, enhanced with new, efficiency-driving capabilities—all at no additional cost.

Intuit Intelligence AI: The revolutionary system for strategic client advisory

Imagine getting immediate answers about your firm or specific client books without ever leaving the Suite or switching contexts. Data can often feel overwhelming, and digging for specific client insights is complicated. Intuit Intelligence harnesses the power of advanced AI to get the most out of your data. Featuring aggregated financial insights from thousands of businesses, Intuit Intelligence can automate your routine tasks and answer complex business questions instantly.

In Intuit Accountant Suite, you can now beta test Intuit Intelligence to get instant answers about firm data, gain personalized insights, and delegate tasks. In addition, firms on the Accelerate plan have beta access to query specific client files without switching between accounts.1

Intuit Intelligence securely connects accounting, payments, payroll, and tax data in one place to provide a holistic view. By factoring in business size, industry, and seasonality, it ensures the strategies it suggests are relevant and reliable.

Take control of month-end with Books Close

We know the month-end close can be a bottleneck. The Books Close2 feature (currently in Beta) has been enhanced to give you even more control over your firm’s standardized processes.

  • Customizable workflows: You can now assign a preparer, reviewer and approver to each close and with custom close statuses, you now have the flexibility to align the close workflow to how your firm actually works.
  • Client collaboration: New features allow you to collaborate directly with clients within the platform to get answers to transactional questions, reducing the back-and-forth of external emails.
  • We are currently expanding the capacity of Books Close to support more than 500 engagements as we move toward general availability.

Strengthen relationships with Customer Hub

Growing a firm requires more than just balancing books; it requires managing relationships. The Customer Hub centralizes your firm's growth and client management within the Suite.

  • Lead management: Gather and manage leads in one central location, ensuring no potential new business falls through the cracks.
  • Automated communication: Streamline your outreach with automated lead follow-ups and AI-powered personalized responses for each prospective client.
  • Feedback and growth: Easily gather referrals and feedback to strengthen your firm’s reputation and turn initial contacts into loyal, long-term customers.
  • Integrated scheduling: Conduct video calls and manage schedules directly through the platform, providing a professional and seamless experience for your clients.

Organize at scale: User Groups

For medium and large firms, managing permissions for a growing team is a full-time job. The new User Groups feature (currently in Beta for Accelerate users3) allows you to:

  • Bulk assign: To assist in managing and reducing risk, quickly assign entire teams to specific client groups 
  • Role-based access: Ensure every team member has the exact level of access they need based on their specific role in the firm and engagement with the clients, so services such as AP, AR, payroll, and payments are handled securely and correctly.

Empower growth with ProAdvisor Training Manager

Preparing your firm for the future requires more than just new tools; it requires a team that knows how to use them. The new ProAdvisor Training Manager dashboard is now built directly into Intuit Accountant Suite to centralize professional development.

  • Strategic learning: Assign and review coursework tailored to individual team member needs, moving beyond broad training to role-aligned skill building.
  • Visibility and control: Send reminders and track your team’s progress from the same dashboard you use to manage client work.
  • No more spreadsheets: Eliminate the need for separate tracking systems; the Training Manager provides a bird's-eye view of your firm's entire learning journey.

In addition, a Intuit Accountant Suite training course through ProAdvisor Academy, and can be accessed through the new ProAdvisor Training Manager.

Intuit Accountant Suite plan comparison

Both the Intuit Accountant Suite Core and Accelerate plans provide a modernized, faster version of the QuickBooks Online Accountant experience you are used to, but they differ in their AI capabilities and firm management tools. Here is an overview of what is available in each plan:

What’s new in Intuit Accountant Suite this February.

Books Close is an optional add-on available to both Core and Accelerate users.

  • Cost: For onboarded clients, $8 per client/mo (for up to 50 clients) or $6 per client/mo (for 50+ clients).
  • Current status: Both the Accelerate plan and the Books Close add-on are currently in free Beta until April 30, 2026. The Accelerate plan pricing is $149 per month.

Looking Ahead: Pricing and the Road to May 2026

We want to ensure your transition to these new tools is as smooth as possible. Here is what you need to know about the upcoming schedule:

  • Beta testing schedule: All premium features (Accelerate and Books Close) will remain free to try through April 30, 2026.
  • Billing Starts May 1: General availability and billing for premium features will begin on May 1, 2026.
  • Core plan remains free: You will always have the option to use Intuit Accountant Suite Core for free, which includes all the pre-existing QuickBooks Online Accountant functionality you rely on today.

Primary admins will receive multiple communications over the next few months. Be sure to review and accept the updated terms by April 30 to continue using premium features without interruption.
