Here’s a summary of the key updates we’ve made to QuickBooks Online in the past three months to enhance the workflows you use most.
Platform navigation and usability
The QuickBooks navigation is easier and more customizable:
- The Global Create menu and bookmarks now open with a hover and no longer close if you accidentally click.
- You can pin as many apps as you want to tailor your workspace to your needs.
- You can view and work in multiple tabs by clicking on “Open Link in New Tab” in the bookmark flyout.
- Our search bar helps you navigate faster; just type a keyword, and we’ll guide you to what you need.
Accounting
Accounting features are faster and more accurate:
- PDF to transaction conversion: You can now convert PDF bank statements directly into transactions ready to be posted through the bank feed. This is ideal for your clients who haven't linked their bank directly or for easily uploading historical statements, eliminating manual data entry.
- Banking data usability: Scanning your banking data is now easier with features like column freezing, zebra-striping for improved row distinction, green color indicators for matching transactions, and text wrapping for key details.
- Faster bank feed: If you’re using the new AI-powered bank feed, you can now view up to 300 transactions per page (up from 50) without slowing down your experience, increasing efficiency for reviewing large volumes of transactions.
- Batch import: You can now batch import up to 1,000 product and service items at once (previously limited to 200) without performance issues.
Expenses and pay bills
Manage your bills wherever you are:
- Mobile bill management: You can now create and manage bills on-the-go with the QuickBooks Online mobile app (iOS and Android). Easily create, view, update, and delete bills right from your phone.
- Cleared check images: With QuickBooks Bill Pay, you can now view and download cleared check images, confirming payments and tracking transactions with ease.
Project management
- Project allocations: QuickBooks Plus and Advanced customers can now see allocations by project in the Project Center to improve budget tracking and financial visibility for more complex projects.
Inventory
Streamline your inventory accounting and tracking:
- Moving Average Cost (MAC): The Moving Average Cost (MAC) inventory valuation method is now available to customers using Plus, Advanced, or the Inventory Add-on. MAC simplifies inventory accounting by smoothing out cost fluctuations and reflecting current market prices.
- Sales order enhancements: Sales Orders now offer greater flexibility and improved tracking for items promised to your customers with custom fields, smarter search, attachment options, the ability to delete, bundles support, and Sales Order to PO conversion.
Payroll
Support your employees with early wage access. Explore QuickBooks Payroll now.
- On-demand pay with Clair: We’ve teamed up with Clair so you can now offer your employees access to a portion of their earned wages before payday at no cost to you¹. Help your team manage unexpected expenses and financial gaps—employees can choose a 1-3 day transfer for free or pay a flat fee for an instant transfer².
