Jaclyn Anku, ProAdvisor Training & Certification Leader: On today's episode of In the Know, we'll be exploring updates to QuickBooks Payments. We've partnered with other software providers to allow QuickBooks customers to get paid via QuickBooks Payments through invoices originated in partner channels.
Hey ProAdvisors, It's Jaclyn and you're watching In the Know, where you can get exclusive access to demos of Intuit product enhancements by the leaders who built them. Let's jump right in with Sarah. Sarah, welcome, thanks.
Sarah Scheuer: Jaclyn, I'm really excited to be here. Hi everyone. I'm Sarah Scheuer, I work on our business development team in Payments, and I'll be talking to you today about our third-party integrations for QuickBooks Payments.
So what did we hear from customers? We heard that they often use industry-specific vertical software to run their business, and that they want to use QuickBooks Payments in any software they use. So what we've done is we have partnered with software providers to enable QuickBooks Payments as a payment gateway in other software so that QuickBooks customers can get paid with QuickBooks Payments and any software that they use to run their business.
What this means is that QuickBooks customers don't have to join another payment provider or go through that sort of onboarding experience; they can just use the payment provider they already use today. And even more, they don't have to do any additional work for those transactions to reconcile in QuickBooks. It all just happens automatically.
To highlight those benefits again, we have this all-in-one place, meaning that you can keep your same merchant account, you do not have to onboard to a new provider, and the auto reconciliation feature allows for those payments to match back in QuickBooks with no additional work. Something that we hear from accountants that they really like is that we provide gross settlement, which allows for the revenue from the transaction to be separated from the payment fee—which leads to more efficient accounting.
Here's an example of what our payment gateway looks like in software. This is from Pandadoc. You'll see that at the right, a customer can select their preferred payment gateway, and second to the bottom, you'll see QuickBooks Payments. You would advise your customers to go and select that payment gateway, which would allow them to have the Pay Now button on any invoices they create from that software.
We have our payment gateway in more than 1,000 software platforms, and it's actually publicly available; any software provider can go and integrate with the program. We are now choosing strategic partners to offer QuickBooks Payments, and some of those partners are ChargeOver and PandaDoc, and we're adding partners as we go.
Here's an example of some of those partners. You can see we have Fishbowl, Salesforce, BigCommerce here as well, and we will be adding a webpage in the future so that you can see which software platforms we make QuickBooks Payments available on.
That was a brief update on our presentation on third-party integrations.
Jaclyn Anku: Really exciting. Thank you so much, Sarah.
