Jaclyn Anku, ProAdvisor Training & Certification Leader: On today's episode of In the Know, we'll be exploring updates to payroll reports in QuickBooks Online Payroll. Hey ProAdvisors, it's Jaclyn and you're watching In the Know, where you get exclusive access to demos of Intuit product enhancements by the leaders who build them. Let's jump right in with Maureen for a look at the new customized consolidated payroll reports. Maureen, welcome.
Maureen Byrne: Thank you so much for having me. I'm very excited to be here!
I am here to talk to you about consolidated payroll reports; what is a consolidated payroll report and who is using it. A consolidated payroll report is a package of several payroll reports that you have selected for download, and they are available in one Excel spreadsheet file with multiple tabs, where each tab represents your favorite payroll report you have chosen for download.
Prior to launch on December 19, 2024, this was a report that was available one time only, right after a payroll run, and would only contain the data in that payroll run. On December 19, we launched the ability for you to access this report on demand to contain one and up to nine reports; for the data to contain multiple payroll reports going back several years; and also for any corrected data that you made to also be included in that report.
So why is this a great report? We have heard from accountants, just like you, that it is simple and powerful to use. It can be used as a mentorship moment between you and your client. It can take a snapshot in time for you to talk to your client; a client or small business owner can also use it to audit themselves at a particular point in time or use it to reach out to their accountant to ask any questions.
We have heard that it is an awesome report. That is a fantastic report, so we're very excited to hear what you think of it and how you choose to use it. Since we launched at the end of December, it has been downloaded 21,000 times. We're very excited to increase that number and bring value to accountants and small business owners. So let's walk through the experience.
As I mentioned, it is easily discoverable in the payroll section of the reports page. We have added a new tag icon so that you can easily discover it and find it. Once you click on it, you will be asked to enter a start date and end date for the report. This can go back several years, and it can be up to a year in duration. You can choose one or many, and up to nine reports. We've heard that you would like to see more reports added here in the future, so we're excited to explore that with you.
Once you have selected the reports you want to download, let's take a look at what you see. Here is a sample of an Excel spreadsheet document that has been downloaded. It has each report and a tab for each report. It has the date the transaction happened and the payroll run for easily deciphering and understanding the report.
We are excited to hear how you're going to use this report, and how many use cases you can discover as you reach out to your clients—and if you're a client or a small business owner, how you use it.
Thank you very much for listening to me and as I introduced consolidated payroll reports.
Jaclyn Anku: Maureen, that was fantastic. Thank you so much.
