Arti Patel Martinez, ProAdvisor Training & Certification Leader: On today's episode of In the Know, we’ll explore how to use the new Intuit Intelligence feature.
Hey ProAdvisors, it's Arti, and you're watching In the Know, where you get exclusive access to demos of Intuit product enhancements by the leaders who built them. Let's jump right in with Ruta, who will show us how to best use the Intuit Intelligence feature.
Ruta, welcome!
Ruta Bhat: Thank you. Arti. I'm excited to be here! Let's talk about Intuit Intelligence.
So what is Intuit intelligence? Intuit intelligence is a conversational AI-type interface right within the product.
Quick highlight about myself before I jump into that. I am a Customer Experience professional at Intuit, and I'm leading the overall experience for Intuit Intelligence, which is our conversational AI interface.
So with that, let's jump into exactly what it is.
So what we heard from our customers and accountants is they are wanting to seek instant answers to their questions, as they become more comfortable using AI to create more efficiencies in their personal and professional lives.
They're already used to using Gemini and ChatGPT, so we wanted to provide them with a conversational AI interface so that they can do all of their problem-solving right within the product.
So what we did here is we launched the Intuit Intelligence chat feature, which can help unify all of the financial insights data into a single interface experience that delivers instant answers and personalized recommendations.
It works on your data, so you could explore brainstorming, use cases within it, explore ideas, uncover opportunities, and also use it to help you think through decisions with confidence. You can also ask precise, data-driven questions and receive instant visual insights right within the platform.
So with that, let's jump into the highlights of what this is.
Fast Facts:
- Intuit Intelligence is available to all customers and accountants with a QuickBooks subscription and all admin users with a QuickBooks subscription.
- It is accessible through the Navigation menu, so when you log in QuickBooks, you can see the Intuit Intelligence icon on the right-hand side. This is also available in Intuit Accountant Suite and Intuit Enterprise Suite, with the same icon on the right-hand side.
- It is live as of February 2026. So exciting! It is already live and out there for all our US customers and users.
So let's jump into a From-To. What was it looking like before and what does it look like now?
Before, as you're used to the QuickBooks platform, you would see a Home Page on the left hand side with Intuit Intelligence. Now, you will see a chat box right in the middle of the screen. Or you can also access it from the right-hand side Intuit Intelligence icon. Once you click into it, it will open it up in a sidebar format where you can start interacting with it and start asking questions.
You can access Intuit Intelligence within the product through this icon on the right-hand side. When you click into it, you will notice that it is a conversational AI-type interface, which allows you to ask any type of questions on your data within QuickBooks.
You could also open it in the full screen view format by clicking on this button, and it will open up the full-screen view for you. It will save all of your chat history on the left- hand side as you're interacting with it. And to get out of this view, you could also click the minimize option here or you could also close this icon. It goes away. To get back into it, you can click this icon again and it opens up again.
As to the key features within Intuit Intelligence, you can ask questions in plain and simple English language about your data in QuickBooks such as"What is my last month's profit?” and “What are my overdue invoices?” Or, “create me an action plan to grow my business.” It will all be grounded within your data in QuickBooks and pull the necessary insights directly from your data.
You could also ask things like “analyze by business trends over time.” There are some suggested questions given here to help get started. You could also ask “how-do” questions related to specific product features, such as “How do I create an invoice” or “How do I create a receipt, in QuickBooks?”
Or you could also ask how-to specific questions on how to do certain things within QuickBooks.
You could also upload external files or images by clicking on this button. You could also upload it by clicking on this plus icon, which tells you you can add up to five files at a time. There is a file size limit of 5 MB or about 20 pages of text.
You could upload a file and then also ask it to summarize the data within that file and give you summary trends.
So let's give an example.
I'm going to ask, “What is my last month's profit?, because I want to know how much I made in profit last month. It will tell you what it's doing in the background.
So it will tell you that it is fetching the business information, from the Profit and Loss report. It is, you know, customizing the report based on the time period that I asked for. It will provide me, once it's done processing, a summary of what my last month's profit was, the accounting method, and a quick chart for reference.
It can also suggest follow-up questions for you as you're interacting with it. So it will also suggest if you want to look into profit trends over the last six months. So, for a wider time period, you could click into this, and it will show you that. You could also see specific things, like show income and expenses, and compare profit for January 2026 versus 2025. Or you could ask a completely different question as you're interacting with it.
Now I want to know what were my overdue invoices in the last six months. So let's see what it does. It will start analyzing the request. It is fetching the business information and it will look at the necessary report. It is interpreting my question and then looking at the open invoices as a standard report for tracking unpaid invoices. and then it will pull the necessary data from the specific reports and give it to me in a summary format.
So let's see the outputs here.
It's analyzing the open invoices as of February 18, so it's just today's date. And let's see; it gave us an overdue invoice summary. It listed all the overdue invoices with their numbers, amounts, and the number of days it has been overdue. It also gave me a nice little chart for my overdue invoices. And further, it tells me where it is pulling from, so it gives me more trust in the data, and I'm able to right-click and open this in a new tab if I wish to look into that as well.
This is overall Intuit Intelligence conversational AI right within QuickBooks, which works on your data, and helps you get quick answers to all of your insights, allowing you to focus on more high-value tasks.
Awesome. So that was a quick, video about the feature, and how it can be useful.
So with that, let's jump into a couple more highlights on how many prompts do you get with this feature? In the details on how we can purchase additional prompts for this feature.
Every QuickBooks plan, whether it's all SKUs of QuickBooks, Intuit Accountant Suite or Intuit Enterprise Suite, includes a starting 25 Intuit Intelligence chat prompts per month. They expire at the end of the month and renew with the next billing cycle. So you get 25 prompts to start with, and then if you wish to purchase additional prompts as you're interacting with the feature, you can also go to add more prompts and then buy more prompts. With the $10 monthly add-on subscription, it will give you access to 100 additional prompts.
Let's jump into a little bit more on the purchase flow on how to do exactly this part. As you're interacting with it on the left side, once you have exhausted your limit, it will give you a message and tell you that you can add more prompts by clicking on the button. Once you click on it, it will direct you to the purchase flow, so it will direct you to the $10 per month Buy Now page, where you can click on Buy Now to get additional prompts.
Once you get to this page, you will be asked to update your company information. Once you update your information, you can select Choose Address and Save. Once you do that, it will take you to the final page where you hit Subscribe. You will get those additional hundred prompts as soon as you hit Subscribe. You will also get an email confirmation, and you can also see it in the Billing and Subscriptions page.
When you look into the Settings gear icon, and go to Subscriptions and Billing page, you can access the Intuit Intelligence chat add-on right within here, and you will be able to see it right in this window.
You can cancel the subscription at any point in time; it will still be valid toward the remaining period of your billing cycle, and you will still have access to those 100 additional prompts toward the end of the till the end of the billing cycle.
All right. So that was all about Intuit Intelligence, the exciting conversational AI-type interface right within QuickBooks available for you.
