“There has been an industry-wide increase of reports of scammers impersonating tech support from legitimate companies, including Intuit®. These scammers request access to your computer, diagnose a non-existent problem and ask you to pay for unnecessary – or potentially harmful – services.” Intuit Online Security Center Blog – Protect Yourself from Tech Support Scams.
In many cases, QuickBooks® customers encounter these companies by searching for support telephone numbers on the internet. To make sure you or your clients always have the right phone number, ask your Customer Success Manager for a list of support numbers for the products you use. You may also access official Intuit® support through Intuit’s community forums, in-product chat and/or an official Intuit site, Intuit.com/support. You may also call Intuit at 1-800-446-8848 (1-800-4-INTUIT).
If you or your clients receive a phone call and you feel uncomfortable, hang up and call Intuit or your CSM directly. There is nothing we would need to do that cannot wait 5 minutes for a call back.
If you receive a suspicious email send it to spoof@intuit.com. Intuit will investigate the email and confirm whether it is a real email from Intuit or an illegitimate email masquerading as Intuit.
