I started my business seven years ago and was strictly QuickBooks® Desktop. I never even thought of using a different program. Fast forward five years later and I keep hearing about QuickBooks Online (QBO). I thought, “No, I have used this before; I’m not going to like it now.”
So, I slowly started working in QBO because I received some new clients that were using it.
After a couple of years, I’m hooked … on QBO that is. I now have 90 percent of my clients that are on QBO and I’ve tripled my business within a year.
Here are the reasons why due to QBO:
Time savings. There are too many features to list here, but the amount of time saving I’ve had on QBO is immeasurable. Just to name a few, there’s bank feed/bank rules, invoices being sent out and charged automatically, and bank reconciliation.
Automation. This one is my favorite. You can make bank rules in the bank feed, so transactions can go right in the register after being downloaded from the bank. You can also make your invoicing automated. All you must do is set up a recurring sales receipt. When this is done, your sales receipt/invoice is automatically emailed from QBO. You don’t have to lift a finger.
No passing of files back and forth. I think everyone who used desktop can relate to this. If you’re on QBO, everything is in the cloud so there’s no need to back up files. It’s especially nice for your clients to be able to get on whenever they want.
Ease of use. This software is the easiest software I’ve ever had to use. At first, I didn’t like it, but with time, I have fallen in love with it. It is so user friendly, and if you do have problems, there’s always the help feature, where you can ask QBO assistant a question and get connected with the chat box or support.
Third-party apps. By using third-party apps, such as QuickBooks Time (and the QB Workforce mobile app), Hubdoc, Neat and Bill.com, you can be so much more efficient. There are literally hundreds of apps you can choose from to make your firm more efficient.
Making the leap to QuickBooks Online
All of these things above helped me gain more clients and become more profitable. If you haven’t tried QBO yet, I highly recommend giving it a try. It could change your firm and your future.
