What’s new in Intuit Accountant Suite: Fall 2026 release features

Intuit is investing to power the success of accounting firms of every size, helping them create more capacity, deepen client relationships, and grow in the AI era. With the fall 2026 release of Intuit Accountant Suite, we’re unveiling new AI-powered capabilities designed around how firms like yours actually work, automating more of the manual work, surfacing intelligence across the client portfolio, and giving accountants more time to focus on the judgment and advisory work that creates the greatest value.

Intuit Intelligence¹ makes that possible. It isn’t an AI feature added on top of the suite. It’s an AI platform that works across your whole client portfolio, drawing on your client data in one place and sending each task to the right AI, automation, or expert, following the policies and approvals you set. Every action is tracked in an audit log, so your team touches only the exceptions.

The result is increased capacity: less time on prep work and more time focusing on clients to help pursue strategic growth opportunities.

Manage your firm, its workflows, teams, and clients all in one place

Firms are managing increased client demand with the same headcount, with client requests for financial management, technology guidance, and strategic advice climbing steadily. Intuit Accountant Suite provides the operational infrastructure to handle that growth without needing to hire for every new request.

  • Cross-client analysis without the manual work: Intuit Intelligence now uses accountant-native language (using process metrics and GAAP terms like trial balance and variance) and surfaces patterns across your entire book of business (beta). (Available in Accelerate plan²)
  • Standardize onboarding once and apply it everywhere: Playbooks (beta) allow you to build repeatable onboarding workflows by industry or service level. Once created, configure any new client's books in a couple of clicks. (Available in Accelerate plan²)
  • Track product support in a central hub (beta): The Resolution Center consolidates web-to-case support tickets from your team and your clients into a single view, making it easy to check status, add details, and reopen cases without chasing updates across channels. (Available in Core & Accelerate plans)

"Intuit Accountant Suite allows us to save even more time and allows us to focus on actually advising and being customer champions to our clients."

— Ryan Handel, co-founder & CEO, Fixe

Automate manual work, on your terms with your judgement, fueling your advisory impact

As firms expand their financial management and strategic advisory offerings, they need automated, flexible workflows that scale without compromising standards. Intuit Accountant Suite empowers you to automate repetitive, manual bookkeeping tasks while ensuring your professional judgment remains central to every decision, keeping your firm in full control while unlocking capacity for high-value advisory work.

Books Close (beta) is now available in Intuit Accountant Suite at no additional cost. It includes file review, custom templates, custom statuses, multiple assignees, transaction-review collaboration across clients, AI-powered anomaly detection, and auto-updates to each client's QuickBooks file. (Available in Core & Accelerate plans)

Standardize review steps across your team: Books Close (beta) provides structured, customizable templates, contextual commenting, and status tracking across all your client close engagements at no extra charge. (Available in Core & Accelerate plans)

Pilot Opportunity: Agentic Books Close

As client portfolios grow, month-end close often demands more manual effort instead of scaling smoothly. Agentic Books Close handles preliminary prep work in the background against your firm's standards, allowing you to focus on review, approval, and exception management. Interested accounting firms can try Agentic Books Close early to help test and refine the product prior to broader release.³

Agentic Books Close works according to your firm's standards, automating month-end prep while keeping you in full control with a complete audit log, human-in-the-loop approvals, and AI that learns from your corrections with every close. Key features include:

  • AI handles the mechanical prep: Posting pending transactions, reconciling accounts, flagging anomalies, and recommending fixes.
  • AI drafts accrual entries: Flagging fixed assets, prepaids, and other accruals, then drafting and posting schedules and journal entries once you approve while learning from your edits over time.
  • AI builds closing reports: Variance Analysis and AP/AR Aging reports, assembled into a monthly package you can send clients directly.

A stronger foundation: Improved reliability in core workflows

A dependable foundation to the systems and technology you use is essential to earning your firm's trust. Based directly on feedback we have heard from the accountant community, this fall release brings significant performance and stability upgrades across core workflows.

  • Faster navigation across large client lists: Optimized infrastructure speeds up client list load times and Home dashboard responsiveness, even for firms managing hundreds of client realms. (Available now in Core & Accelerate plans)
  • Simplified firm administration: Enhancements to console consolidation, and granular role-based access controls (RBAC) ensure team members have appropriate access levels while keeping data organized. (Available now in Core & Accelerate plans)
  • Deeper bank feed and posting reliability: Platform improvements target core data connections, reducing disconnected bank feeds, retaining custom report settings, and ensuring exact payroll posting alignment. (Available now in QuickBooks Online)
  • Track product support in a central hub (beta): As mentioned above, the new Resolution Center consolidates web-to-case support tickets from your team and your clients into a single view, making it easy to check statuses, add details, and reopen cases without chasing updates across channels. (Available in Core & Accelerate plans)

"The power of Intuit Accountant Suite is that it blends Intuit's software, our team's human expertise, and AI. It allows us to leverage the right resource at the right time, reducing variability in our tactical work and freeing up time for deeper connections with our clients.”

— Matthew May, CAS Partner, Sorren
