Intuit QuickBooks to start new QuickBooks Online user interface test

Update on 4/18/2025

Starting in April, we’ll be testing some new Agentic AI experiences in QuickBooks Online. We want to inform you of these tests because you may see the experiences in your clients’ books when you access them through QuickBooks Online Accountant.

Agentic AI, or AI Agents, is the automation of workflows and tasks previously performed by a person. They’re designed to create efficiencies in workflows, drive collaboration, and help save you and your clients time so you can focus on higher-value work and firm growth.

For example, we recently introduced Agentic AI capabilities in QuickBooks with the ability to help businesses stay on top of their invoices so they can get paid faster. Today, in the QuickBooks dashboard Business Feed powered by Intuit Assist, QuickBooks surfaces which invoices to collect on, bills to review, and more. Intuit Assist also drafts an invoice payment reminder to a customer and can adjust the tone and voice based on data within QuickBooks.

New agent capabilities we'll be testing over the coming months include the automation of some workflows related to profit and loss analysis, project and financial planning, maintaining accurate, up-to-date books, and collaborating with clients to better understand transaction details.

The agentic AI use cases we'll be testing are designed to work alongside you under your guidance and supervision and improve your firm’s efficiency and productivity by automating workflows so you can focus on higher-value activities.

Agentic AI represents a transformative leap in technology, with the potential to unlock unprecedented levels of efficiency for you and your clients. As we continue testing AI Agent experiences in QuickBooks over the coming months, we’ll keep you updated on what we’re testing. We’ll also share potential opportunities for you to participate in our beta programs and provide feedback.

Update on 1/15/2025

Business owners often tell us they struggle with juggling multiple disconnected tools to manage their business. This can lead to reduced productivity, a lack of clear insights, and make it incredibly challenging to grow their business.

In October at Intuit Connect, we shared our vision of bringing together QuickBooks Online and Mailchimp to deliver an integrated platform that streamlines workflows and helps increase productivity to drive business growth.

Starting this month, we’re beginning a test that represents the first step in bringing this vision to life and gives us the opportunity to co-create a new experience based on customer input. A small number of businesses that are new to QuickBooks Online and aren’t connected to an accountant will have the opportunity to opt into the test. QuickBooks Online customers who opt-in to the test will experience a new QuickBooks Online user interface with a carousel that shows key applications businesses use every day to complete jobs that need to be done.

This test experience will impact your view when accessing a client’s books through QuickBooks Online Accountant. A client participating in the test can opt out at any time and revert to the standard QuickBooks online user interface. And as an accountant connected to a client participating in the test, you can also opt a client out of the test on their behalf. Opt out a client by clicking on the settings gear icon ⚙️ on the navigation bar on the top of the screen. You'll see the “Leave early access program” prompt at the bottom.

As we begin our journey to deliver on our vision to deliver an integrated, connected platform that helps businesses be more productive and grow, we’re excited by the opportunity to learn from you and the participating businesses. We'll continue to keep you informed about future test plans. Check back on Firm of the Future for the latest updates.

Please share your feedback with us as you and your clients interact with the test experience. You can provide feedback by clicking the gear icon ⚙️ in the top right corner and selecting “Feedback.”
