Arti Patel Martinez, ProAdvisor Training & Certification Leader: On today's episode of In the Know, we'll be showcasing new improvements to Intuit Intelligent Services.

Hey ProAdvisors, it's Arti, and you're watching In the Know, where you get exclusive access to demos of Intuit product enhancements by the leaders who built them.

Let's jump right in with Liron Zighelnic, who is going to show us more about Intelligent Services and how you, as accountants, can configure them.

Liron, welcome to the show.

Liron Zighelnic: Hi, everyone. I'm Liron, and I'm the director of AI. I'm super excited to be here and to share with you today what we learned from you, what we're building because of that, and spend just as much time on the controls that keep you at the center of every client relationship. I spend a lot of my time meeting with accounting professionals and businesses to really deeply understand your goals, your vision, and what's standing in your way. These conversations help to keep us grounded on what matters most to you and what you need to be successful.

What we've learned from you we can break it down to three things. The first one is technology. Talent is harder to find, and clients expect more from you. You need to automate the routine work to free up time, so you can drive efficiency and improve your profitability. You want a platform intelligent enough to earn your trust and help you decide with confidence, while always keeping you in control. The second one is growing your firm. You want to scale your impact, deepen client relationships, and create new opportunities to grow your practice through high-value advisory work. Underneath all of that, it comes down to people. You need a partner that really helps you to uplevel the firm's skills with training and certifications, especially in the era of AI.

For a very long time, as you know, our industry has treated accountants like a distribution channel. As announced, we made a shift away from that. You are our customers. Full stop. Three commitments follow from that. The first one is that when a business picks up an accountant, everything that we build and everything that we do should reinforce the relationships, never around it. The second one is that we're designing one platform where you and the clients share the same workspace. And three is that we're investing in your growth directly.

Intuit experts will handle new customers onboarding and setup, and beyond that, over time, we'll be referring new clients to your firm. You know the cost of a bad setup better than anyone. A messy chart of accounts on day one creates tons of cleanup work every month after that, so we are deeply invested in improving our onboarding. Clients share their business name and top priorities, and Intuit Intelligence tailors the setup with less manual work, and if they want more help, a setup expert can walk them through it live. We've expanded this help to all QuickBooks Online customers on Simple Start to Advanced, and from a window of 30 days to 90 days.

If clients have questions on day one, that's great. If they have questions after they start to use the product, that's also great. For clients working with the firm, there is a piece built specifically for you. Soon, they [clients] will be able to add the first details during setup. The payoff is very clear. It helps you with cleaner setup, easier closes, and better data to advise from. Your success in the era of AI is our top priority. Once the client is up and running, the challenge becomes keeping the books updated.

That brings me to expert verified auto categorization. That's a long one, huh? Arriving in August on the Plus and Advanced plans, think of it as a two-layer review. AI takes the first pass at categorizing tailored to each business and its configuration, and then an Intuit expert reviews and verifies in the background. Only entries that clear a high confidence bar actually post. Everything else goes back to the business owner. Owners can follow along through the bookkeeping summary that shows what's done current status, and if there is anything that needs any input from them. And [QuickBooks Online] Advanced customers also get recurring expert check-in, so the books stay clean. For you, that means walking into the end of the month with far less uncategorized backlog, less manual work, and more time advising.

If you ask yourself, "What does that mean for my clients' files? The short answer is nothing happens unless someone turns it on. For any business with an account attached, the service switches off and we won't promote it inside their account. If a client goes looking for it on their own, the product prompts them to have a conversation with you before activating anything.

If a client who set up their own books enabled it anyway, you will get a notification the moment that it happened. And for clients billed through your firm, the switch belongs to you alone. Nobody else can flip it.

This is just the first wave of controls, and we're already working on giving you much more control based on all your feedback so you can stay in the center of the relationships. Thank you for your time today. We're super excited to hear your feedback and continue to build for you.

Arti Patel Martinez: Thank you so much. That was great and a lot of information, and I see a lot of questions coming in. I think we have time for just two. There is a lot of good stuff about experts, the accountants, and what the accountants can control and all of that. So, can we go back really quick again, who are these Intuit experts?

Liron Zighelnic: Sure. Intuit experts are Intuit employees who have certification and usually an average of around 10 years of bookkeeping experience. The role is really focused on two main things: setup and onboarding, which we covered a few minutes ago, as well as the work that I mentioned around auto categorization in the background.

Arti Patel Martinez: Okay, awesome. And then, kind of on that as well, will these services turn on automatically for clients?

Liron Zighelnic: No. So for every accounted client, the services are switched off by default. We're shipping it out with a switch off, and nothing is changed or turned on unless there is a decision from you or from client billed accountants from your client. This is turned off by default.

Arti Patel Martinez: Thanks so much for that walkthrough.  If you find this update interesting or helpful, go ahead and like, comment and subscribe. That's all we have for now.
