Intuit Accountant Suite August 2026 launch: A new system of intelligence for the modern firm

Intuit Accountant Suite is entering its next chapter. This August, Intuit is launching a wave of AI-native experiences designed to help firms centralize operations, act on insights faster, and free up capacity to invest in the work that matters most: advising clients.

Accountants have provided feedback that the constant context switching between systems, client files, and communication channels is the biggest drag on productivity. The features rolling out this August are built directly from that feedback, continuing our commitment to design Intuit Accountant Suite with accountants, for accountants.

Here's what's new, what's coming soon, and what it means for your firm.

Turn insights into action with Intuit Intelligence-powered features

At the center of the August launch is a deeper investment in Intuit Intelligence, the engine that turns your firm's questions into answers and your data into decisions. All features listed below will be available in the Intuit Accountant Suite Accelerate plan.¹

• Stay ahead of your workload with proactive visibility: Use the new Portfolio Summary (Beta) to prioritize your advisory time at a glance, while expanded AI anomaly detection automatically flags unusual transactions and trends before they impact a close or client conversation.
• Get portfolio-level answers — With Cross-Client Insights (Beta)² in Intuit Intelligence Chat, Accelerate firms can now ask sophisticated questions across their entire client portfolio and get real-time answers back, without pulling data manually from each individual client file. Uncover trends, outliers, and opportunities across your book of business in the time it used to take to open one report.
• Scale expertise with Custom AI Automations²: Accelerate firms can now build their own AI automations from a prompt, a firm SOP, or a ready-made library, then run them across clients in a single action, on demand or on a schedule. A feature called Playbooks (Beta) takes this further, letting you standardize client onboarding and service delivery so every client is set up right in a fraction of the time it used to take.

Scale without context switching

Features that can enhance and improve your workflow are launching this August, specifically engineered to target daily operational friction that firms report most frequently. All features listed below will be available in the Intuit Accountant Suite Core and Accelerate plans.

• One inbox for every client conversation: The redesigned Inbox centralizes client communications and requests in a single place, with SMS notifications that nudge clients who haven't logged into QuickBooks recently, so nothing sits waiting in a queue.
• Full visibility into every support ticket: The new Resolution Center consolidates product support tickets from your team and your clients into one view, so you can check statuses, add details, and reopen cases anytime without chasing updates across channels.
• Work across client files without losing your place: Multiple Tabs (Beta) lets you open several QuickBooks Online client files simultaneously within Intuit Accountant Suite, so you no longer have to close one client just to check a number in another.
• Enterprise-grade access control: SSO (Beta), built on our Okta partnership across QuickBooks Online, Intuit Accountant Suite, and Intuit Enterprise Suite, gives IT teams self-serve tools to enforce MFA, hardware keys, or risk-based policies, along with full audit trails and visibility into suspicious activity.

Human Capital Management now in Intuit Accountant Suite

Firms have told us they want the same caliber of tools they deliver to clients available for running their own practice, and that starts with how you manage your firm staff. This August, a new Team section will be in the Intuit Accountant Suite left navigation, giving your firm a dedicated home for human capital management (HCM). All features listed below will be available in the Intuit Accountant Suite Core and Accelerate plans.

QuickBooks Workforce Elite is included: Through the ProAdvisor Program (which will transition to Intuit ProPartner Accountants in January 2027), eligible firms on Core and Accelerate will have access to QuickBooks Workforce Elite at no extra cost. Inside the Intuit Accountant Suite, Workforce Elite will also introduce new HCM capabilities, allowing accountants to manage their own teams effectively.

What the new HCM tools unlock for your firm: With these tools, firms will be able to:

• Hire and onboard employees directly inside QuickBooks
• Manage HR documents, policies, and workflows in one place
• Track time off, performance, and benefits alongside payroll
• See workforce data seamlessly reflected in payroll and financials

A seamless unlock for firms making the switch: If your firm has a single QuickBooks Online Accountant console or realm, upgrading to Intuit Accountant Suite Core or Accelerate automatically unlocks the Team section for your chosen tier, with your existing team and payroll data intact and no manual data migration required.

Intuit ProPartner Accountants projected tiers available in August

Launching in January 2027, the Intuit ProPartner Accountants program is a new global partner initiative purpose-built to invest in the long-term success of accounting firms. By providing incentives, training, and community, Intuit ProPartner Accountants empowers your firm to scale confidently, expand advisory services, and deliver greater value to clients. Key benefits feature enhanced support equipped with smarter routing, priority access, extended hours, and direct connectivity to deeper accounting expertise. Every one of these capabilities is available to try during the extended beta period at no additional cost. We want firms to experience the value of the Intuit Accountant Suite Accelerate plan firsthand before monetization begins on January 20, 2027.

A few important dates to have on your radar:

• Company admins can now update their firm's subscription directly to Intuit Accountant Suite. New QuickBooks Online Accountant accounts are no longer being created; firms are directed to Intuit Accountant Suite instead.
• Beta extended through January 2027: Intuit Accountant Suite Accelerate and the Books Close add-on remain free during this extended beta, giving your firm more runway to explore the full platform before fees apply.
• QuickBooks Online Accountant sunsets December 2026: More detail on the transition timeline is coming in the months ahead. If your firm hasn't made the switch yet, now is the time to start.
