Get Ready to Prepare for W2 and 1099 Filings

As we approach the end of the year, it’s time to turn our attention to W2s and 1099 reporting in time for IRS filing deadlines. Here is some important information to get you ready for the season with QuickBooks® Pro, Premier, Enterprise and Accountant. For a full checklist and useful tips, visit our Payroll Year End Center.

Get Ready to Print W2 and W3 Forms

As a reminder, the federal and state tax forms migrated to a new method of printing last year: printing all forms to a PDF, first. After that, the employer has the option to print this form, as well as save a copy on the local drive for future reference. For this, a PDF reader is required; we recommend downloading and installing Adobe Reader because this program works well with QuickBooks Desktop. Learn More about printing W2 and W3 forms.
